Position Overview

The Business Partner (BP) works as a strategic partner with the Growth business units to offer a wide range of strategic and operational support. The successful incumbent will play a key role in aligning Human Resources (HR) activities and initiatives with the organization’s strategic goals, supporting change management, employee advocacy with quality service and efficiency.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Function as a trusted advisor by using strong business and functional acumen
  • Provide effective thought leadership and change management for sustainable solutions
  • Support leaders and managers in areas such as employee development, performance management, human rights, employment law and policy interpretation
  • Support business strategy and planning activities by providing HR insight
  • Guide and coach business leaders through various HR practices including organizational design and development, talent acquisition, compensation etc.
  • Monitor, identify and communicate the effectiveness of strategies, programs and practices related to own area of expertise to pursue excellence
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork
  • Oversee and complete a variety of complex initiatives by leveraging relationships and subject matter experts
  • Develop and maintain a cohesive working relationship with other departments to productively build efficiencies to align with business needs
Skills & Qualifications
  • A team player, leader and independent thinker
  • Ambitious initiative, drive and ability to think and act proactively
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience
  • Knowledge of HR related principles and best working practices and procedures
  • Understands and ability to interpret Employment Legislation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, judgement, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
  • Client-focused, with a high level of professionalism, discretion and diplomacy
  • Ability to foster and leverage effective partnerships both internally and externally
  • Proven experience working in a fast-paced environment and ability to manage organizational changes
  • Experience working in the wealth management or financial industry an asset
Education
  • University Degree or College Diploma in Human Resources
  • CHRP or CHRL is an asset
